Freedom. Pride. Fear.

These three words have so much power, and are the basis of what could be seen as the world's biggest, most secretive rebellions. The rebellion of the Freaks. There is a war occurring, beneath the surface, behind the scenes. A war that will either make or break the world as we know it. Who's side are you on?

Nicki Peters II 19 II FC: Megan Fox II OPEN

Nicki is a complete and total bitch. She’s one of those girls that you look at and either think one of two things: “wow she must have had a hard life.” Or “Wow she’s perfect.” But Nicki is/had neither. Growing up, she was the only girl in a family of 5 sons. She was the youngest, and definitely knew how to have a good time. Nicki was, and hasn’t ever been, innocent. She went to her first “teen” party at the incredibly young age of 12, and started drinking on a normal basis at 13. At 14 she tried pot for the first time, and by 16 she was regularly trying different combinations of any drugs she could find. One night, Nicki’s life changed for the worst. She was arrested with a DUI and since her parents didn’t want to help her out, she was kept there overnight. D

She felt herself changing after that, but not in the way you’d think. Nicki began to think that—since life was so precious—she needed to live in the moment. She found out about The Group through the grapevine and tracked them down. Once there, Chris caught her attention immediately, though the “love” wasn’t returned. Nicki was determined to catch Chris’ attention—and keep it.

Charlee Indigo II 16 II FC: Georgie Henley II OPEN

Charlee is a bit of a shy girl. She would prefer to spend her time with her nose in a book, as opposed to actually communicating with people. It’s not that she doesn’t like people, and she isn’t socially awkward, she merely feels that characters in books are better friends to her. In her mind, it’s easier to live in your imagination than in the real world. And in her case, it’s true. Her parents, both freaks, left her on an orphanage porch when she was still a baby, in hopes that she wouldn’t be a freak, and that she could live a life without the CTF getting involved. That worked for a few years, until a man who worked for the CTF was the one who adopted her at the age of 6. He was a normal dad, if only distant at times. She never knew what he did for a living. All Charlee knew was that she was to never ask questions, and if daddy had to leave on short notice and not be there for a few days, she needed to take care of herself for a short while.

When Charlee turned 14, she decided that she was old enough to finally know what her dad did for a living. She followed him to work on foot, making sure he never saw her. And he didn’t, but what she saw would haunt her memory forever. His job that day wasn’t a normal kidnapping. It was supposed to be murder. And murder it was. Charlee saw the man she who had raised her to have good moral values shoot a kid, no older than her age, in cold blood. Realizing that she couldn’t live with him, knowing what she did, Charlee packed up her things and got on the nearest bus to nowhere. She ended up in the middle of absolutely nowhere, where she quite literally ran into the group. They accepted her instantly, seeing that she had nowhere to go. No one in the group knows of Charlee’s past – except for Nick of course.

Her power: Charlee has the ability to, in essence, turn herself invisible. However, her body doesn’t physically turn invisible. Instead, she is able to make people forget that she’s there. It’s not something she can completely control, but after a while, people forget that she exists in general, until she makes herself obviously known again. Usually Charlee will go a few hours letting people forget about her while she reads, then puts herself out again, helping people remember.

Laura Ryens II 16 II FC: India Eisley II OPEN

Laura is probably one of the shiest girls you will ever meet. She’s not closed off necessarily, but she just isn’t a big talker. Well…that might be an understatement. A major understatement. No one really knows ANYTHING about Laura. Nothing. That’s because she hasn’t talked to anyone. Ever. Not a single word. Laura, however, is still a very expressive person. She talks with her hands and her face. She still wears her hear on her sleeve, even though she never talks. You can tell exactly what she’s thinking just by the way she rolls her eyes, or cocks an eyebrow. Though no one knows her past, everyone feels like they know Laura because of how “open” she is with her expressions.

Although she doesn’t talk, Laura likes to draw pictures. She’s an incredible artist, and can do nearly every type of art there is. But her forte is definitely drawing. She never went to any kind of art school, never took a class, never had any kind of lesson except the natural talent she possessed. Laura is best known for drawing extremely detailed pencil pictures and taping them around the group, just for the fun of it. She finds nearly everything funny, so even though she never talks, she’s almost always laughing about something.

Her Power: Laura has the ability to make things from her mind come to life with just a few words. But there is always a consequence, and sometimes thoughts don’t quite make sense, or they aren’t specific enough. In essence, Laura is like a genie with unlimited wishes. She can wish for things, but since she’s no good with words, she often messes things up. She may be clearly thinking about something she wants, and then say it and it happens, but it never happens in the way she wants it to. For example, she may be thinking about the feel of rain on her skin, and how it soaks her clothes, and how amazing the smell of rain is, and the freshness etc., so she says out loud, “I wish it was raining.”, her wish would definitely come true, but more often than not, it starts raining somewhere else. Even though she was thinking about rain on her, she didn’t articulate it correctly. Backfired and implied wishes have caused so many issues for Laura that she finally decided that not talking was the only way to fix her problems. She found that she doesn’t even need to use the words “I wish.” If she really wants something, and she talks about it even a little, it’s bound to happen, and it’s bound to fall apart.

Byron Marks II 17 II FC: Frank Iero II OPEN

mystery

Definition

mys·ter·y

[ místəree ]

NOUN

mys·ter·ies

plural

1.      strangeness: the quality of being strange, secret, or puzzling

Mystery. This word is the only word that can describe Byron Marks. He is a mystery, he always has been. No one really knows much about his childhood. Every time someone asks about it, he changes his stories. The only thing that people really know about Byron is by how he acts. They know nothing of his past, but he makes up for it by being an incredible friend. All most know about Byron is that he has a way with words. He’s one of those people that—if you happen to get their approval—it will truly make your day. Byron is able to make friends very easily, but he also tends to be a bit manipulative. Though, the way he manipulates isn’t a bad thing. He manipulates your mind, usually causing you to have much higher confidence. From that, you become more easy going, and tend to want to spill your guts to him. He’s a trustworthy person, but he knows so much about everyone that he could easily turn it around and use everything he knows against you. He is able to look past people’s flaws easily, seeing only the good in them. Byron tends to have a bit of a temper, but only if one of his friends are threatened.

Byron specifically has a slight fascination with Chris. He met the other man when Chris was rampaging through CTF buildings and they immediately clicked. After trying and trying and trying, he FINALLY got Chris to open up a bit. Once that happened, they quickly fell in love. They never had sex, but they were best friends. They would destroy CTF buildings, helping the world TOGETHER—as cliché as it sounds. Byron left his own little group, just to be with Chris. Though he didn’t have much, he gave up everything he had for the man. They had each other’s backs and each other’s hearts as well. But after Chris found Jane, Byron left. He didn’t know where he fit in the equation, now that Chris had found her. He disappeared without a trace, thinking that Chris would just forget about him. Hell, maybe he could forget about Chris as well. But even leaving didn’t help him. Byron had been a nomad, travelling wherever the world took him, but after Chris, Byron didn’t want to leave the last place he had seen Chris. He would constantly go back and forth, re-visiting places he and Chris had met, reenacting the memories in his head. After a month or so of this, his group finally dragged him back in with them, but even still, Chris had a hold on him, whether he wanted to admit it or not.

His Power: Byron has the ability to sense people’s emotions and manipulative them slightly. He can’t drastically change people’s emotions, but he can make certain subtle changes. Using this, he is able to figure people out, and change the way he talks to them and acts around them so that they’ll become more comfortable around him. His power is the reason he is able to  make friends so quickly—he makes them feel so much better around him that gradually they just keep coming back without him using his power.

Elsie Sovens II 18 II FC: Emma Stone II OPEN

Elsie is a very strange girl. She is one of the only people in the Group that has not been captured by the CTF. When she was 13 years old, a few boys from her school convinced her to send pictures of herself to them, even though they were a few years older than her. Not really knowing any better, she sent the pictures. From that moment, the entire school thought of her as the school slut. As she grew up, she got used to the title she claimed at so early an age, easily fitting the mold she was put in. Elsie began to sleep around with anyone—girls and guys alike. Gradually, her goals shifted much higher. She began to do poorly in school, so in her mind, there was only one solution. She would just have to sleep with the teachers. Seemingly out of the blue, Elsie’s grades “magically” raised from Ds and Fs to Bs and, sometimes, As. There were only a few people that Elsie let close to her, her best friends Landon and Zachary. Neither of them wanted to sleep with her. At first, Elsie was confused. In her mind, no one talked to her unless they wanted a few “favors.” Landon and Zack were different. They saw who Elsie REALLY was, not who she portrayed herself to be. In reality, Elsie was extremely smart, and adored playing the piano. Without putting any effort in, she could ace any class she took, but she usually skipped classes in order to keep up with how in-demand she was becoming.

One day, Elsie decided that high school boys were too inexperienced for her taste. She snuck into a strip club nearby, grabbing the closest man she found and telling him that she was absolutely free. He took advantage of the girl—only 17 at the time—and left her on the side of the road to die. Chris, who had been nearby, helped Elsie out, giving her a place to stay—with the Group. She joined with them and immediately became known as the slut. She would willingly make out with any guy that caught her interest.

Her power: Elsie has the ability to manipulate people’s minds. This doesn’t necessarily mean controlling them; rather, she’s very persuasive. She can slip small thoughts into people’s minds, making them randomly REALLY want to do whatever it is she wants them to. It’s come in handy for her when it comes to guys that aren’t as willing to cheat on their girlfriends with her.

Cleo Laurence II 16 II FC: Kaya Scodelario II OPEN

Growing up, Cleo had an amazing family life. She was the youngest of seven kids—four boys and three girls. Her brothers were all protective of her, but not overbearing. Her sisters helped to guide her down the right path—plus take her out for some girl time. At the age of 13, however, she was captured by the CTF. This came as a surprise to everyone when she went missing, including Cleo herself, who hadn’t even known she was a freak. The CTF had been monitoring her for a few years, seeing whether or not she would crack and “come out of hiding” in their minds. She was kept in captivity for 2 years, until Chris busted her, and the 6 other freaks she as with, out. She was scared, alone, and didn’t know where she was, or where her family was relative to her current place. Chris, who was reminded of Jane by the girl’s appearance and actions, took pity on her, taking her back to her house. When she got there, however, she found her entire family. Murdered. Cleo didn’t know where to go—HAD nowhere to go—so Chris took her in to be with the Group.

Cleo was forced to grow up, fast. She went from being the youngest in her family, to being almost the same age as a lot of the people in the Group. Though she still retained a bit of her childish innocence, she has been hardened a lot. Cleo is a bit shy, but when she does talk, she makes sure that everyone is listening. She doesn’t just talk for the sake of hearing her voice. Instead, she only talks if she has something to say, especially when it comes to her opinions. If she doesn’t like something, she’ll wait a while, and then it’ll all just burst out of her. She’s more of a watcher than anything, and doesn’t like to involve herself in things unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Her power: Cleo has the ability to control technology. However, since she had spent so many years not even knowing she was a freak, she has some difficulties. Richard, who is patient, calm, and has virtually no temper, has been helping her to master her power. More times than not, she ends up short-circuiting whatever electronic device Richard supplies for practice. Gradually she’s been getting better, and can now turn on and off any device without fail.

Aaryk Carrigan II 22 II FC: Adam Gregory II OPEN

Growing up, Aaryk had virtually no family life. His family didn’t care about him, so in return he didn’t care about them. He wasn’t hurt by their coldness towards him, and it didn’t effect him in any way growing up. At a young age, he met Lexi, who instantly became the only person he hated. They fought constantly, always at odds, always trying to kill each other. One day, a mutual friend of theirs was taken by the CTF and they had to work together to get him back. Since then, they’ve been inseparable. They watch each other’s backs and are an incredible pair together.

Aaryk isn’t sensitive, but he isn’t selfish either. It’s almost to the point where he feels no emotions. He doesn’t take things personally, and above all, he tends to be brutally honest. That characteristic of his is a bit ironic, considering what his power is [see below]. Though Aaryk rarely gets interested in things, if you catch his interest, he becomes passionate and devoted towards whatever the hell it is that you got him to like. If you DON’T catch his interest, however, he’ll usually brush you off with a single word, usually being, “Intriguing” or “fascinating” or something of the likes.

His power: Aaryk is a fantastic liar. He can convince you of absolutely anything, and leave not a speck of doubt in your mind about it. With just a few small words, he can convince you of anything, from “You’re dead.” To “Your foot is on fire.” Though, Aaryk is most known for telling random strangers that he is a “four foot tall purple platypus with one eye and six nostrils.” That’s about as humorous as Aaryk gets.

Lucas Violette II 17 II FC: Alexander Ludwig II OPEN

Lucas is the youngest of the Violette brothers. Of the three, he is most definitely the most social. He’s that one guy that manages to fit into every social group there is. He’s smart enough to hang with the nerds—smart even, though he doesn’t like to show off—but still cool enough to hang out with the popular kids. As you might assume, Lucas is a ladies’ man. Even still, he has complete respect for women, and isn’t a douche to them. He’ll open doors, or serenade them with guitar, or stand outside their windows with a boombox on his shoulder.

Lucas is sensitive, and is very good with empathizing with others, though he is able to remain clear headed in all situations. He doesn’t let his emotions get the best of him, and he works well in high stress situations. In fact, he works at his very best when under huge amounts of pressure. In The Group, Lucas is the easiest to approach. He isn’t one to let conversations run dry, and he has mastered the perfect balance of having the right amount of seriousness and witty humor in a conversation.

His power: Lucas has the ability to control the temperature. He can’t, however, control the temperature of the air. If he wanted to do that, he would have to heat up or cool down each particle of air in a certain area, which would be pointless, tedious, and exhausting. He CAN control the temperature of individual object. He is able to heat metal to a boiling point, or freeze someone so quickly that they instantly die of frost bite.

Scottie Violette  II 25 II FC: Jake Abel II OPEN

Scottie is the most sensitive of the three Violette brothers. Looking at the three boys, he is definitely the easiest to read. He doesn’t try to hide his emotions, so people fine him extremely trustworthy. You can always count on Scottie to be honest with you. He doesn’t try to sugar coat anything he says or be deceitful. Scottie is also a bit of a hopeless romantic. While in relationships, he tends to give himself up completely and totally, molding himself to whatever she needs him to be. Because of this, he tends to get easily hurt when the people don’t feel the same way. That being said, he tends to take things very personally. In spite of that, he has learned to brush off the things that upset him, or at least come across that way.

When he was younger, he and his brother, Lucas, got into a massive fight. Neither can remember what exactly is was about, but as a result, they ended up saying things that both regret. Lucas however, said the worst. He told Scottie that “even on his deathbed, he wouldn’t forgive him.” That has stuck with Scottie, and he tries to do anything he can to make it up to his brother. Since then, they’ve gotten closer, but things have never quite been the same between them.

His power: Scottie has the ability to turn any object into a mini tornado. He can’t exactly conjure them up without something to take it’s place, and once he makes an object a tornado, he can’t change it back. The size of the object determines the size and power of the tornado. For example, if he turned a golf ball, it would be the size of a golfball and barely strong enough to move a piece of paper. If he turned a house, it would be the size of a house, and strong enough to destroy an entire small village.
